Letters & numbers
A big bouncy letter with a word and a picture. B is for Bear. Numbers count out little piles of cars and cupcakes.

They can press anything.
Keyboard, trackpad, the power button, the brightness keys, ⌘-Tab, Spotlight. Mittens catches all of it before your Mac sees it. The screen stays covered on every display.
Songs they know
Every key plays the next note of a classic. Twinkle Twinkle, Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDonald, 24 in all. Mash fast, hear the song.
Sparkles & friends
Rockets, whales, cupcakes, a hundred and forty emoji that pop and burst. Dragging a finger on the trackpad leaves a trail of stars.
Only you know the way out.
Hold both keys and type the word. A toddler won't do that by accident. The word is yours to change.

A little reminder appears on screen now and then, for grown-ups who forget. You can turn it off.
The small print, plainly.
- It asks for one permission. Accessibility, in System Settings. That's what lets Mittens catch keys like ⌘-Space before macOS does. Without it the screen is still covered, but a few system keys leak through. Open Mittens from your Applications folder, not from the disk image, so the switch sticks.
- It never talks to the internet. No account, no analytics, nothing phones home. The songs and pictures are built in.
- It's signed and notarized by Apple. Your Mac opens it without a warning. Checksum below if you like to check.
- It's free. Made by a parent at a small Chicago studio, for the next parent.
